11 Oct 2008 | RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner 2008recognised as the most prestigious award for contemporary british architecture, the riba stirling prize in association with the architects’ journal will be announced at the dinner and broadcast in a channel 4 programme presented by kevin mccloud. the six riba special awards are also announced and presented at the event. this is unique opportunity to celebrate excellence in architecture and network with other guests from the industry.
tickets are £200 excl vat each (£235 incl vat) and the price includes drinks at the reception and during dinner.

24 May until 02 Nov 2008 | Liverpool Cityscape by Ben Johnsonin 2008 liverpool will become european capital of culture. to celebrate this, and to create a lasting legacy for the city, national museums liverpool, together with the liverpool culture company and professor phil redmond cbe and mrs alexis redmond, have commissioned the artist ben johnson to create a major painting, 'the liverpool cityscape'.
'the liverpool cityscape' will represent liverpool at a pivotal moment in its history. the painting will join the internationally famous collection of the walker art gallery where it will be displayed before moving to its final home in the new museum of liverpool.
