Prudential Assurance Building

Designer: Alfred Waterhouse
Built: 1855 - 1856
Location: Corner of Dale Street and Temple Street

Designed by Alfred Waterhouse and built in 1855-6, the Prudential Assurance Building shows a typically harsh use of red terracotta and brick. The asymmetrically placed tower was added later, although this does detract from the overall composition.
